The only thing that can get us through a hard day is a warm cup of coffee. It is the ultimate life saver, from warming our bodies in the rainy days to comforting us when we are low, coffee is a must. But more often than not, this lifesaver can become our worst nightmare. We are always very cautious but sometimes our clumsiness strikes and we spill the coffee on our clothes, carpet and sometimes even in the interior of the car.

#1 Carpet

Since a rug or a carpet occupies a large area of your house, the chances for things spilling on the carpet are generally very high. To beat the coffee stains and make your carpet look new, all you need is a dish soap and vinegar. Mix both the ingredients in equal quantity. Now spray a small amount of the mixture on the affected region and with a help of a paper towel clean it. Do not scrub. Repeat the process 2-3 times to get rid of the coffee marks.

#2 Cotton

If you have stained a cotton cloth, then the best way to make the stain disappear is by dealing with it as soon as the coffee has spilled on it. Take a spoonful of baking soda and spread it over the stained area for a minimum of half an hour before you give it for laundry. Remember Pre-wash before laundering it.

#3 Silk

If coffee has attacked your silk saree, applying baby powder on it for at least 45 minutes will be a good idea. After 45 minutes, use a dish soap and spread it evenly on the surface and wipe with a clean fresh towel or a paper towel.

#4 Wool

Treat the stain as soon as possible. Try to scratch off the dried coffee off your woolen item. Now take one spoon of vinegar and one spoon of wool cleaner, mix it well and soak the affected area. This should remove the stain, if it still persists, use a cleaner and launder it.

#5 Leather

Leather couches, bags or shoes are really expensive and we cannot afford to stain them but beauty with the leather things is that we can easily remove the stains with the help of a liquid soap. Spread a little amount of liquid soap on the affected area and wipe it with water.

#6 Jeans

To clean the jeans off a coffee stain can be a challenging task because jeans is a rough material and so is the coffee stain. To get unstained jeans we will need a tablespoon of baking soda. You will want to sprinkle it evenly over a wet, clean white cloth. Now take this cloth and rub it gently over the area. Repeat it till the stain goes off. Launder the jeans as usual. If it is still stained then use a stain remover and wash it.

#7 Interior of Car

Spilling of coffee is not just restricted to the living spaces, it can mess up the interior of the car as well. If it has been a while since you spilled the coffee, then there are chances that the coffee must have dried up. In case it happens, then you need a toothbrush, some vinegar, and water. Mix the two in 1:1 ratio, spray it on the area and use the toothbrush to scrub off the dried part.

#8 Wooden Furniture

Removing stains from a wooden furniture is quite easy. All you have to do is pour a teaspoon of white vinegar on the furniture and let it soak in it for a couple of minutes. When you see that the coffee stain is diluting then take a fresh wet cloth and wipe it. And voila! The stain has disappeared.

Final Verdict

In the closing note, I would like to add a general tip which is to treat the stain as soon as possible because it is easier to remove mark when it is fresh rather than when it dries up. Remember to never scrub a clothing material, it will decrease the quality of the material.
